About this event
Memorial Park Library, 2nd Floor. Featuring Kurt Andersen, Anand Giridharadas, and Rachel Eliza GriffithsThe Knicks! Mamdani! Official NYC garbage bins! Free Broadway plays for kids! New York may be a country unto itself, but we’re all feeling the Big Apple’s ripple effect. Three New Yorkers—Kurt Andersen (The Break Up), Anand Giridharadas (Man in the Mirror), and Rachel Eliza Griffiths (The Flower Bearers)—discuss the city’s post-pandemic resurgence and its place in their lives and work. This event is part of Wordfest’s Imaginairium festival, running October 13–18, 2026. Meet more than 50 writers, thinkers, activists, and inspirers from around the world in Calgary. Wordfest also presents authors across every genre throughout the year.
