The Palomino Smokehouse and Social Club. Samantha Savage Smith: A singer-songwriter from Calgary, Alberta, but few things are ever simple. To put it more complexly – which is to say accurately – she's also a multi-instrumentalist, producer, concert curator, and co-producer of her last seven music videos. Her new album is called Little Place, and it's a collection of nine songs that clearly displays her desire to craft honest, thoughtfully constructed pop songs with a compelling and original sonic stamp. Along with her bandmates – drummer/producer Chris Dadge (Chad Van Gaalen, Alvvays), and multi-instrumentalists Brock Geiger (solo) and Nate Waters (Eye of Newt) – she has come up with her most sharply rendered and engaging album to date.Cassia Hardy: As the singer/guitarist for the rock band Wares, Cassia Hardy has performed at festivals and clubs from Dawson City to Charlottetown. Her music is voltage-controlled, dreamy and deliberate, not raw but worked to a fine point. Self-described as “loud-ish,” Hardy’s anthems echo across Treaty 6 with deliberate dreaminess and folky verve.Ava Wild: A young female artist from Saskatchewan, Canada. Guided by her very creative vision, she creates beautiful melodies with her soft, yet powerful voice. She is able to invent her own smooth sound while taking inspiration from soul jazz and indie pop genres.
