Poster for Kinusaiga Workshop

Discover the beauty of Kinsusaiga in a warm, welcoming class designed to bring our arts community together. This traditional Japanese fabric art form — often called “paintings made from cloth” — uses carefully placed textiles to create stunning, textured designs without sewing. Guided step by step, you’ll learn the basics of this unique technique while sharing creativity, conversation, and inspiration with fellow art lovers. Whether you’re new to fibre arts or looking to try something different, this class is a wonderful way to connect, create, and celebrate the joy of making art together. Kinusaiga, or Japanese "silk painting," is created by tucking fabric scraps into pre-cut grooves in wood or foam board. Often called "no-sew quilting," this technique allows artists to create mosaic-like images without sewing or glue.
