Artist Talk and Workshop Safety, Vigilance & the Stories We Carry
Saturday, October 17, 2026
12:30 PM – 2:30 PM
Calgary
About this event
Canopy Studios. Have you ever walked with your keys between your fingers, changed your route home, called someone while walking alone, or asked for help because you felt unsafe?Suzanne’s work explores the quiet ways we protect ourselves when we feel vulnerable. In this free artist talk and workshop, she’ll share the ideas behind her work and invite participants to anonymously share their own experiences of safety, vigilance, unwanted attention, and self-protection.Using remnants from Suzanne’s quilts, we’ll turn these often-unspoken experiences into a collective visual artwork.Share a story, create, listen, or simply be part of the conversation. You only share what feels comfortable.
